Are you really driving traffic to any of your sites via ” rel=”tag”>twitter? If you’re a hardened or experienced online expert, you know the answer to that question. If you’re a little new to the online world, however, you might not be that sure.

You need more than a simple counter on your blog or website to see if Twitter is really bringing you any visitors. In order to assess the traffic value of your involvement, you need to have a good stat tracking service in place.

If you’re paying for hosting, you should already have a halfway decent way of tracking that information. Logging in and accessing those logs and stats, however, can be a little “klunky”. The best solution is probably Analytics.

You can sign up for Google Analytics for free and it’s easy to install the necessary tracking code on your site or blog. After you do, it will be easy to see who’s visiting your site and whether they’re coming from Twitter, search engines or other referrals.

You don’t want to assume that Twitter is getting you traffic. You want to know for sure. Make sure you have a tool in place to help you do just that.
