“I’m on Twitter, but I’m not really making any of these connections people are always talking about.”
“I signed up for Twitter, but I only have a handful of followers. It doesn’t seem very worthwhile.”
You’ll occasionally hear complaints like those and they often have one thing in common. The person making them failed to get a grip on the real key to Twitter. Using it.
Nothing happens by itself. That’s definitely true for Twitter. If you want to see results, make connections and build an army of followers you’re going to need to actually log in and use the service more than once in a blue moon.
Do you need to sit in front of Twitter all day? Of course not. Should you be logging in and getting at least a little involved once or twice per day? Absolutely.
Only through use can you produce outcomes. That’s the real key making Twitter work for you.
The next time you hear someone with a less-than-favorable review of Twitter, find out how often he or she actually uses it. You’ll usually discover that they don’t use it much, if at all.
